Tonight was pasta night and my husband and I both felt like spaghetti. So I pulled off the shelf a couple jars of our canned tomatoes and got our last two onions from storage from our garden last year. So sad. Our onion supply is now gone. But they lasted until April, so that's pretty good. They were such strong, yellow onions, I'd cry every time I sliced into one. Delicious. We've already planted our potatoes and onions in the garden so our next crop is on the way. Making the sauce is easy. Sauteing onions and garlic in a little oil. I added ground turkey breast for the meat with a little salt and pepper, dumped in the tomatoes and added some oregano and basil. For a little creamy texture, I added some fat free evaporated milk (this is in a Weight Watcher's recipe and adds a nice touch). It is so delicious and we totally enjoyed this dinner tonight. You can't buy a sauce that tastes like this. A completely unprocessed spaghetti sauce.
