What is the best way to start off the beginning to long, dark days ahead now that summer is over?  How about celebrating at a Light Festival?  That's what Bruce and I did last night and we loved it.  We attended the United States' first international video projection mapping competition that was held here in Seattle at South Lake Union (SLU).  And it was awesome . What is video projection mapping, you ask?  Good question.  Apparently, it is very popular in Europe.  You need interesting architecture to make it work and then you need a big space in front of the big piece of architecture to view it.   Europe has both with all their ample walking space all over the place and all that amazing architecture.  Fortunately, we also have a place like that here at MOHAI's (Museum of History and Industry) with it's 5,000-square-foot facade and plentiful grassy standing space in front of it.  I'v...

I had quite the weekend, not actually food related, mostly sports related with food scattered here and there. Yesterday, we had brunch at a bar called  Bill's Off Broadway .   Why at a bar, you ask?  Because we had the unfortunate conflict of having tickets to the  Book of Mormon  Broadway musical, while the Seattle Seahawks were to play their first post-season playoff game in Minnesota close to the same time.   We knew we would most likely miss the 4th quarter since the play started at 1:00 pm and the game started at 10:00 am.  We decided to record the game and watch the 4th quarter when we got home.  We would force ourselves not to look at our smart phones to see what happened and watch our recording at home to get the full effect of the outcome.  NOT HAPPENING.  We debated a lot about what to do about this  dilemma.  I guess you could say it was a botched Christmas present from me.  The minute I bought the ...
