Sevilla, Spain

After we left London, we had a quick stop over for two nights in Sevilla before heading to Nick's house. This was Lauren’s first trip here so we decided to take time for some sightseeing.  We were in Sevilla in June  and got a quick tour with Nick before the heat wave struck and then we headed south and didn’t have time to return. When we arrived it was evening and the whole town was so festive. We walked through the streets enjoying the sights and taking in all the beauty.   Leaving London wasn’t so sad after all.    Of course, we couldn’t wait to start exploring. The next day was a gorgeous day.  We saw the sun for the first time in days and didn’t realize how good it was to see it after being London.  We took Lauren to see the Plaza de Espana which is the town’s big square and where lots of community gatherings happen. Merry Christmas from Spain

Our Christmas gift to ourselves this year is being together in Spain.  We would have never thought that Nick and family would be living in Spain but here we all are.  We are fortunate enough for our whole family to be here this Christmas. There really is no better place.  In this day and age, it seems the world is getting to be a smaller and smaller place and we are lucky to be able to travel to be together again.  And this is such a wonderful place to be. I hope you are able to spend your holiday season with those you love, too. Merry Christmas!🎄

A New Holiday Tradition?

We are starting to feel like our travels abroad this Christmas might just turn into something on a regular basis. We decided months ago that Bruce, Lauren and I would spend Christmas with Nick and family in Spain so in order to get there, we fly direct to one of several cities in Europe from Seattle to connect to Seville. In June, we connected via Paris. This time, we connected via London and what a great decision that was. London is magical at Christmas and we are enjoying every minute of it.                         The British really know how to do it up for Christmas and we have gotten into the holiday spirit quickly. One reason we decided to fly to Spain via London is because my niece lives here and she has been a wonderful tour guide and full of English knowledge. She and Lauren are close in age so it’s nice for cousins to get-together. She picked us up at Heathrow airport and drove us to our Airbnb flat near Victoria station.                                    It was so good to s
