Our  move  from Idaho to Seattle is finally complete.  The moving truck came Saturday, August 15th, two days ahead of schedule which was fine with us, we were eager to get going. But with two days less of preparing, we were busy every minute of our last week in Idaho.  Fortunately, we didn't have so much to pack since we packed a lot during  phase two  of our move. Our last week, we  continued to sell items on Craigslist with success and had some time to spend with everyone saying goodbye.  Soon the truck was full, the house was empty, the inside cleaned, the lawn mowed and we were ready to hit the road one last time for that  drive   to Seattle. From the time we made the offer on our Seattle house on April 21st to the day we moved in on August 16th, it was nearly 4 months. Moving takes a lot of patience, planning, organizing and hard work. We have been in Seattle for 4 weeks now during this  phase two  of moving and we haven't seen it rain yet.  Seattle and no rain.  Can you believe it?  We are getting eager to see rain.  We've woke up twice and saw that it was wet outside but we've never actually seen it rain.  Today, they said it was going to rain but we haven't seen it.  We still planned a day outside despite the forecast of rain and went down to Alki Beach for the West Seattle Art Fair.  People-watching is fun and so is pig-watching. You never know what you'll run into but we loved these pot belly pig pets. Was it the weather or was it the pigs?  But as we walked home from the free shuttle bus from the art fair, I got the urge to stop at the grocery store and buy a pork roast to cook for dinner tonight. I'm am enjoying this phase of moving   the most.  We have a lot of boxes to unpack but they aren't anything urgent so we still have time to explore our new neighborhood. One of the reasons we wanted to live in this neighborhood is because it reminds us of old Seattle that we remember, not the up-scaled Seattle that has happened to a lot of the neighborhoods. Our neighborhood theater has remained unchanged since 1942. They recently just installed two new laser digital projectors so we still need to go check it out. The first photo above is the Admiral Bird which is a florist and small, funky cafe that we've stopped in a couple of times already for breakfast and lunch. Very dog-friendly, as you can see. That's how I remember Seattle. Every weekend is Waffle Weekend at the Bird. We stopped in for lunch when we first arrived in town with limited food. My cobb salad really hit the spot. If you have to  move   like we are, it's nice to do it in phases which is how it's ending up for us since we are still waiting for our Idaho house to sell.  The first phase of moving was to pack up half our stuff in a Pods.com so we could stage our house.  After that, we just kept on  packing   the rest of the closets, cupboards and drawers and put the boxes in the garage.  Our second phase is to move the stuff from the Pod into our new home.  The third phase will be when the movers come to move all the rest of our Idaho house to the Seattle house after the house sells.   We plan on staying put here now until that third phase.  So, if you move like this, it really isn't too stressful.  And we've had lots of time between phases, another good thing.  The Pod came yesterday and we finished unpacking it today.  It is mainly boxes since most our furniture is staged at the Idaho house so we are living wit...
