Living in Limbo

I haven't been posting much because our house is in limbo, thus no cooking.   Here's our kitchen: The kitchen work started Monday so we've been living mostly in our basement with a microwave, crockpot, rice cooker and our second refrigerator is down there which makes it handy right now.  We also have a bathroom with a large counter we are using for our kitchen sink.  So, it's not really that bad.  The kitchen work involves painting the cabinets, putting in a wall oven, putting in a new cooktop, a new quartz countertop and subway tile backsplash.  To be perfectly honest, I think the kitchen is the easiest part of this whole remodel.  The deck is done except for the railing.  The hardest part has been the electrical work.  We are changing out all the electrical in our house because it is old and we're replacing it with new.  But that entails knocking out all the walls to get to it.  Hey, look!  An old window in the wall. Father's Day '19

Nick sent us this photo yesterday and I guess you can tell that he has his hands full these day being a dad.  And our little grand babies love him being their Daddy (and the cat, too!) We also FaceTimed and once again we loved connecting with them despite our 5,000 mile distance.  Fortunately for us, we have Lauren close by so we celebrated Father's Day with her yesterday.  She invited us over to her apartment for dinner and we had a wonderful time.  Father and Daughter In case you don't notice, those are tipsy wine glasses we gave Lauren for Christmas one year.  I got them at Watson Kennedy , my most favorite gift shop in all Seattle.  He's not carrying them in the shop right now, but here is another site where you can get them here .  We had fun using them yesterday.  We went up to Lauren's roof top patio of her building which is a gorgeous spot.
