Life has been slow for Bruce and I so far in 2017 (except for our Super Bowl party). February is almost over already so I thought I better post something so you know I'm still alive. Bruce has been traveling for work so I haven't been cooking much and we haven't had any social occasions to cook for, so yeah, life has been pretty slow.
I did join our local YMCA and started swimming and taking a water exercise class 3-4 times a week. It's amazing how much time it takes to do that. Luckily, I have the time but I hardly get anything else done during the day. The water class is 45 minutes (I usually get in a little early) and then I swim laps for about 30-45 minutes (then I cool down by just swimming around slowly for 15 minutes) so I'm in the pool for 2 hours. It feels great to be in a pool again. I never feel like rushing to get out and will usually lounge around in the hot tub for awhile, too. They also have a sauna and steam room which I haven't tried yet. When all said and done, I'm at the Y for about 3 hours. By the time I do a few errands or whatever, I get home and it's time to start fixing dinner and the day is done! But then, wouldn't you know it, I caught a really bad cold, probably picked something up there. ICK! So, I haven't gone swimming for the past two weeks. I've felt pretty cruddy, taking lots of Sudafed, NyQuil, Afrin and sleeping a lot. The good news is that I've been organizing my photos and other little organizing tasks around the house. My life may be uneventful right now, but it definitley is not for Nick and Sachiyo who are busy being mom and dad to little Hana. It's such a thrill when I hear my iPhone ping and know more photos have arrive of Hana. Now, I'm living my life through my grandchild, savoring every photo that comes through our iCloud. Today, we got photos of "Daddy Playtime". All the babies are so precious, just look at them all.
I love Nick's nametag.
Hana also takes a yoga class
and swimming. She LOVES her new swimsuit.
During the President's Day weekend, they took a little trip to Yusaka Onsen. An onsen is a Japanese hot spring/spa-type place. They stayed in a ryokan that was kid-friendly
and with great food; always a top priority.
Hana visited her first castle
and she's taken her first train ride.
She's even eaten her first tofu, among other things. She is a good eater just like her Daddy was at that age.
She is Daddy's little girl, no doubt about it.
We may be 5,000 miles apart but when you're living through the eyes of your precious little grandchild, life is anything but boring.
