We are in Denmark on our first morning, waking up refreshed and we didn't eat Danish. In fact, we didn't even leave the hotel but in fact, ate at their continental breakfast. Mind you, this is NOT like a U.S. continental breakfast. We are staying at the Axel Guldsmeden hotel in Copenhagen for one night before we leave for Sweden today. We are not jet lagged at all after a long day yesterday and a good sleep last night. But we were feeling a lot more lazy this morning and felt like enjoying the confines our our cozy lodging here.
One look at their breakfast offerings and we were staying.
I had my usual scrambled eggs (freshly made with green onions) and toast
with the most delicious homemade bread that I sliced myself from one of their many artisan loaves of bread, along with plenty of butter and jams and jellies.
They also offered Danish ham and salamis, mounds of fresh cheeses
fresh sliced fruits and platters of the best cakes, chock-full of nuts, dried fruit and honey.
They had interesting homemade salads; a cauliflower salad and a bitterroot and carrot salad.
Bruce and I really like the yogurts they offered that were homemade with lots of toppings to choose from.
We are re-fueled and ready to tackle another day in Denmark.
wow, excellent hotel choice!
ReplyDeleteIt was a Rick Steves choice, of course.
