I think Lewis and Clark would roll over in their grave if they could see Seaside now.
There are a few more people here than when we arrived earlier in the week.
We walked on the Prom into town this morning for the parade
and saw the crowd gathering for the fireworks on the beach tonight.
There was a good crowd for the parade which went down the main street of town.
Everyone was excited for the parade to start.
You never go far around here without running into salt water taffy
and the parade participates were throwing it everywhere.
This was always Nick and Lauren's favorite part of the parade... the candy.
And I think it's still that way for most kids.
This 4th of July parade had all the usual attractions such as marching bands
and drill teams
princesses
horses
goats
puppies
old cars
and other interesting creatures.
After the parade, we walked back on the Prom with the rest of the parade goers.
The Prom is a busy place today.
How about some lemonade from a lemonade stand?
We are enjoying an old fashioned 4th of July at Seaside. See you on the beach tonight.
Happy 4th of July everybody!
