I am staying at a Bed & Breakfast during my visit to Seattle as an extra special treat this weekend. So, I found this one called Mildred's Bed & Breakfast which is the oldest Bed & Breakfast in Seattle.
It is located on North Capitol Hill across the street from Volunteer Park - can't get a much better location than that!
It started out as a boarding house in the 1940's by Mildred, who is the mother-in-law of the current owner, Melody.
After Mildred's husband died, she started the business by turning the old boarding house into a Bed & Breakfast in 1982.
I am in the Blue Room.
I slept so good last night!
There something very tranquil about this place.
And it's cat-friendly, which is always a good thing. Mildred's has had a black & white cat residing here for the past 40 years.
The accommodations are lovely.
I am more than comfortable.
The owner, Melody, and the fellow guests here are so sociable. I did not get an evening walk last night after my 8 hour drive because people were out on the front porch relaxing and talking about their adventures in Seattle. I just had to join in.
There is just something so warm and inviting about just being here.
I wanted to walk around the neighborhood last night for some exercise, plus I love this neighborhood and just love looking at all the old homes of North Capitol Hill.
